cookie policy
last updated: 15 September 2026
1. About this Policy
This Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy explains how Blob uses cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs and similar technologies on our website, mobile application and related services.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
3. Categories we use
| Category | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Needed to provide the Service, keep you signed in securely, remember essential settings, prevent fraud, manage consent and maintain security. These do not require consent where they are strictly necessary. |
| Functional / preferences | Remember choices such as language, interface preferences, campus or app settings. Consent may be required unless the technology is strictly necessary for a user-requested feature. |
| Analytics and performance | We do not currently use third-party analytics cookies or SDKs. If introduced later, these technologies would help us understand how users interact with the Service, diagnose issues and improve features. We will ask for consent where required, especially for non-essential analytics cookies or SDKs. |
| Marketing | Used for advertising, retargeting or measuring campaigns. We do not use marketing cookies unless we tell you and obtain consent where required. |
| Mobile SDKs and crash reporting | SDKs may collect app version, device, logs, crash data and performance information. Some may be strictly necessary for security/debugging; analytics SDKs may require consent. |
| Push notifications | If you enable push notifications, we may process device tokens and notification preferences to send you alerts. You can disable notifications in your device settings or app settings. |
4. Consent and managing preferences
Where consent is required, we will ask for it before setting non-essential cookies or SDKs. We do not currently use website analytics or marketing cookies or advertising SDKs. If we introduce analytics or marketing technologies later, we will provide a consent mechanism where required.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, in the app, through your device and app settings.
You can also manage cookies through browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website functionality.
5. Third-party technologies
Processors/service providers may include Supabase, Expo, Sentry, Resend and Vercel. Apple and Google may act as independent controllers for app distribution and APNs/FCM delivery. Universities, student unions, associations and societies may act independently for information they process in their own spaces. We do not use ad networks.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time, including when we change the technologies we use.
Questions about this Policy should be sent to privacy@blobme.ai.
